What sort of things do I need to include in this form?

Tell the therapist about areas of your body, which are injured, tense or sore. Also mention any medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, heart problems, chronic headaches, pregnancy, or recent surgery.

"When you are finished with the medical history form I will look it over and make sure the room is all set up."

Treatment Room

There are many different types of massage. All therapists in Ohio are licensed by the Ohio State Medical Board. Every therapist is trained in Swedish Massage.

Therapist and client work together to discuss the desired outcome of the session. This will determine which parts of your body need massage. A typical full body Swedish Massage will include work on the neck, back, hips, arms, legs, feet, chest, abdomen, and head. Remembering that with women, the breast tissue under most situations will  NEVER  be worked.

If Trigger Point Therapy or Deep Tissue Massage is needed during the session, fewer areas of the body are worked. This allows the therapist more time to concentrate on the appropriate area.

"As you can see, the sheets on the massage table are set up like your bed sheets at home. There is a top and bottom sheet with a blanket for warmth."

Most massage techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to wear for your own comfort.

You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.

Don't be afraid to give your therapist feedback. Do you want more or less pressure. Remember this is your massage, you're in control. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them at any time.  If you don't speak up the therapist can't make the appropriate adjustments.
